Our Story
Rooted in Community. Growing the Next Generation.
Save the Seeds was born from a simple belief: every child in our community deserves a safe place to grow, compete, and belong — regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our Mission
Planting Opportunities. Growing Futures.
Save the Seeds, Inc. is a Missouri-based nonprofit youth organization dedicated to empowering children ages 5–18 through free sports programs, mentorship, and community support. We believe that when you invest in a child, you invest in an entire community.
Our vision is a world where every young person — no matter their zip code — has access to the programs, mentors, and opportunities they need to thrive.
How We Started
A Dream That Started Close to Home
Save the Seeds grew out of a recognition that too many kids in our community lacked access to structured, positive activities after school and on weekends. Without safe spaces and caring mentors, young people are left without direction — and without hope.
We started small: a handful of kids, a borrowed court, and a commitment to show up every single week. What began as a neighborhood initiative has grown into a multi-sport organization serving youth across Missouri.
Today, we offer free programs in basketball, football, tennis, and chess — and we're just getting started. Every program we run is a seed planted in a child's life. We're here to make sure those seeds grow.
What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Community First
Everything we do is rooted in the belief that strong communities are built one child at a time. We show up for our kids because our kids show up for each other.
Equal Access
No child should be left out because of cost. Every program we offer is completely free — because opportunity shouldn't have a price tag.
Character Over Trophies
We measure success not in wins and losses, but in the confidence, discipline, and integrity our young people carry with them long after the game is over.
Mentorship Matters
Behind every thriving child is an adult who believed in them. Our coaches and volunteers are more than instructors — they're role models and advocates.
Leadership
The Person Behind the Mission

The Dream
Building a Home for Our Community
Our ultimate goal is to open a dedicated Save the Seeds Youth Center — a permanent space where children can participate in sports, receive academic support, access mentorship, and simply feel safe. A place built by this community, for this community.
